OARSI WORLD CONGRESS ON OSTEOARTHRITIS 2025 IN SOUTH KOREA
Published on May 2, 2025 by Chondrometrics-admin
The World Congress on Osteoarthritis is a peak moment of productivity and exchange for OA researchers — when the full breadth of our community comes together across all sub-disciplines. It’s therefore an intense and energizing four days (April 23-26, 2025), full of inspiring conversations with colleagues and friends.
A wholehearted thank you to the organizers of a brilliant OARSI 2025 in Incheon, South Korea — the first World Congress on Osteoarthritis ever held in Asia! After this tremendous success, we hope a new tradition begins: bringing the congress to Asia every third year.
Thank you to:
- Gun-il Im (Immediate Past President) for his gracious local hosting in the vibrant cities of Incheon and Seoul
- The OARSI Executive Committee — Nancy Lane, Magali Cucchiarini, Martin Englund, Mohit Kapoor
- The Program and Abstract Chairs — Mona Dvir-Ginzberg & Muneaki Ishijima
- The OAC Journal Editors — Anne-Marie Malfait, David Hunter & Henning Madry
- All Pre-Conference Workshop and Discussion Group Chairs
A very special thanks also to our valued colleagues with whom we had the pleasure to collaborate on the oral presentations & posters featured in the carousel slides below.
Chondrometrics was proud this year to contribute a record 14 presentations — 3 oral and 11 posters. A heartfelt thanks to entire team, and everyone who supported our work.

•First ever OARSI conference on the Asian continent! Great experience, and the Chondrometrics post-dinner drink event in the Weihenstephan open tap hotel bar was great fun. Thanks to all the friends, colleagues, and customers joining us there.

•Amazing barbecue in Hongdae, beautiful city walk, and so much fun discovering the unique local neighborhoods and charming little villages. Had such a wonderful time in Korea with you and Wolfgang. I’ll always treasure all the joyful memories we made together.

•A fantastic opportunity to engage with researchers within the Asia Pacific region and to share knowledge regarding developments in the OA therapeutic space. Enjoyed the insightful commentary and presentations from Chondrometrics – Wolfgang and Felix – on the role of imaging, patient selection and development of AI tools.
