CHONDROMETRICS INFOGRAPHIC DESIGN CHALLENGE
Published on June 8, 2025 by Chondrometrics-admin
In our Mai 2025 news update, we reported how Chondrometrics expanded its media team, welcoming Antonia Schumann from Berlin as a new media consultant. At the same time, Mick Girdwood from Melbourne was selected from five talented applicants as the creative lead, tasked with developing infographics and visual abstracts to concisely communicate key messages from Chondrometrics’s scientific work. Building on Mick’s winning submission, he created 20 design variations. Through an internal review process involving Chondrometrics employees, former team members, freelancers, and the Scientific Advisory Board, six finalists were selected for public voting via LinkedIn. LinkedIn post
After three exciting weeks of voting, the competition remained close until the very end:
- Gold Medal went to Infographic No. 2 (see figure), leading with 96 votes.
- Silver Medal went to No. 6 (92 votes)
- Bronze Medal went to No. 1, narrowly ahead of No. 3 (53 vs. 44 votes). No. 4 (25 votes) and No. 5 (23 votes) were part of the race but did not factor into the final decision.
A huge thanks to all 111 voting participants who made this competition a success. These included:
- 80 external participants – we’re especially grateful for your input!
- 8 members of our Scientific Advisory Board
- 6 friends and family
- 17 current and former team members from Chondrometrics and PMU
With a major publication scheduled for June 29th, Infographic No. 2 will have its first official public appearance on LinkedIn next week.
This contest was not only fun, but also a great learning experience for further development of our science communication activities.
